Remember why we do it. Our vision is to create an atmosphere where people meet the Hope for their soul...the Person of Jesus Christ and the hope He offers for the situation they're in.
Praying with others in the church is a great privilege and amazing opportunity to be used by God. In this moment people are coming to you raw and vulnerable. Be prayerful even before arriving that God would give you wisdom and divine appointment for everyone you encounter Sunday morning.
Our standards for PRAYER TEAM:
Know where you are going to stand. We want people at either end of the first row and the main landing. Sit near where you will be.
Whoever is leading worship that morning will cue you when to stand before the last song. Be sure to make yourself approachable…no closing your eyes to continue worshiping through the last song.
Remember that this is about them and God and you are merely being a vessel. Take the pressure off. You don’t have to be impressive with your words. Just sincere. Be sure to ask their name and what they need prayer for.
Never appear shocked at what the prayer need is. While you may not identify with their struggle we are petitioning a God who desires to show grace and mercy at all times.
If no one approaches you for prayer then be sure to mindfully agree in prayer for others who are leading prayer or ask God to give you something to pray for in that time.
